Every entrepreneur would love to live the classic story of the man who dropped out of school to start working on something small in his garage and eventually became a billionaire. It doesn’t always happen to everybody, but it can happen. What you don’t hear about is all of the time and energy it took on the back end to make that kind of success happen. Usually these entrepreneurial ventures were more than just opening up a restaurant.

Manufacturing entrepreneurs have a much tougher problem on their hands. They have the initial prototype of a part that has been mish-mashed together to create the ideal piece, but when it comes to mass production of it, the pieces may require using several different materials of different shapes and sizes. For manufacturers, this can be extremely expensive because you may need different machinery for each material or each part size. Startups just don’t have this kind of money.

Luckily, technological advancements have created miracle drugs for manufacturing entrepreneurs. Prior to the computer age and CAD technology, manufacturers would have to make a series of manual settings to drills and saws, which would take a very long time altogether. CNC machines, computerized manufacturing systems, can take precise specifications from computer programs, CAD files, etc. to be able to create replicas of parts in mass quantity. They don’t have to worry about natural wear on the processes throwing things out of alignment. The benefit of CNC machining is that parts are created with greater much more quickly and with greater accuracy than they otherwise would be using older technology. Entrepreneurs don’t have to wait around for weeks while their parts are built. The speed of the process also means that entrepreneurs can respond to time-critical late orders from their customers.

CNC machines often employ intense cutting technology, able to slice and drill through a variety of materials – anything from steel to titanium to plastic. One of the most effective types of cutting technology is waterjet cutting. Waterjet cutting shoots water along with an abrasive material to be able to cut through material that would otherwise be difficult to work with using laser or other heat-emitting methods. Waterjet cutting is a 1000 huge improvement over typical cutting methods, because heat often damages the structural integrity of the material while it cuts. This can leave the product more unstable over the long term.

For entrepreneurs looking to create pieces in large quantity, there are no better options than contracting for a CNC machine that employs waterjet cutting. While these machines aren’t usually affordable for the typical manufacturer, CNC machine shops can be contracted to use these technologies at a reasonable cost. This saves a lot of time and money for the entrepreneurial manufacturer.

[...] This leads to yet another benefit, a fast change over. Since these machines are very easy to setup and run, and since programs can be easily loaded, they allow v 1000 ery short setup time. Rather than applying completely mechanical devices to cause motion as is required on most conventional machine tools, CNC machines allow motion control in a revolutionary manner. All forms of CNC equipment have two or more directions of motion, called axes. These axes can be precisely and automatically positioned along their lengths of travel. If you need more information about cnc programming services there is a lot of information about it on online Cnc machine shops. [...]
